The First Tee is a program open to military youth (national guard and reserves included-not just title 10). Through golf lessons the children are taught core values and confidence. This seems to be a wonderful program.
It is open to children 7 years of age and older. They usually have equipment that can be borrowed as well.
My oldest has been randomly asking to learn to play golf, it was kinda out of no where when he started. Since the interest has continued I agreed to let him try it out!
Check out your local MWR/AFRC/ Golf course on your installation to see if the participate!
There are so many blogs, facebook pages/groups, and websites out there for Military families. One of the common threads though is they seem to be always geared towards the Active Duty (AD) side of life. The reserves are very much an active component of the US Military day to day operations. Their families face many challenges when their husbands and fathers are away and unfortunately a lot of the resources are not as handy when they go to deploy. This blog is geared to those struggles!
